A major form of distraction from our destiny is the next person to us. Quoting the Reverend Dennis Proctor in our last post in this series, we explained that ‘different’ does not mean ‘deficient’ and that the other person’s promotion does not guarantee our demotion.

Taking it further, another way our preference for our neighbour’s specifications and circumstances works against us is that the process of looking around and the comparisons that follow make us to look so down on ourselves that we keep wondering whether we are ‘good enough’ to make it.
