Inspiring Change Through Literature and Media
Jesus takes a long look into the golden vial and smiles. These are the earnest, effectual and fervent prayers of His saints on earth, who cry day and night for His intervention.
Nevertheless, the truth is that in almost all of the cases presented, the solution lies so close to the petitioner … Just a decision away.
And the whole of heaven is forever looking up to man to
make that decision,
make that choice,
take that stand,
take that step,
and make that move,
…even much more than man is looking up to Heaven for intervention.
Moreover, the Comforter never quits giving man the prompts, while the ministering spirits never quit setting the stage for several brilliant opportunities; but will man ever act…
Jesus looks away from the golden vial. His face shines as the noon day sun with another brilliant smile as He looks up and beholds Zacchaeus amidst the crowd of frenzied angels and saints.
He calls out, His voice roaring like a clasp of thunder.
And immediately, Zacchaeus emerges before Him clothed in white from amongst the saints, as though pulled by a magnetic force towards Him.
“Here I am, Lord”, he says with excitement taking a quick bow before
literally jumping on His bosom.
“Behold the intercessions of saints in the realm of time”, Jesus says.
Then Zacchaeus and Jesus both take a look long into the vial and smile.
First, they see Adewale as he knots his tie in front of a mirror preparing for a Job interview for a position he is not really qualified for; not qualified because he doesn’t have enough money to get additional relevant trainings and certifications beyond his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Adewale has been unemployed since completing the compulsory National Youth Service two years ago. Yet, he has been praying hard to be the one selected for this job among many more qualified others…
This morning, he feels so stunted and unlucky by his obvious limitation; the same way Zacchaeus had felt over 2000 years ago in the realm of time when he had been a dwarf in reality…
“If only my parents had been rich enough to send me to school abroad, or at best sponsor my Masters Degrees or certification exams…” Adewale often wishes.
However, ‘Wale’s paths are adorned with several golden opportunities, any of which he could have chosen to seize…
For instance, he browses the internet for an average of thirty minutes every day in search of employment opportunities. Besides, he is very active on Facebook.
He could have decided to use that opportunity to step up his game and build his capacity…
There are many free educative resources on the Internet which could at least brush up his knowledge, and still make him a bit more relevant and marketable in his chosen field, even though he can’t afford to enrol for any formal training or write his certification but alas…He never sees it that way- his intellect is as tortured as is his psyche …
