Inspiring Change Through Literature and Media
Proverbs 17:24 Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.
(Continues from It’s Not Always About The Rat Race)
The solution for the moment is available here and now. But fools believe it must be far, stressful and sophisticated…
Back to our analogy,
Two men once engaged in a certain real-life contest:
One believed winning had to be hard, tough and stressful ….
So off he went into the thick forest for days
Depending solely on the limitations of his muscles,
Searching frantically for something not lost!
The other knew the value of inspiration,
Hidden virtue – yet superior
And by which men scale territories without moving an inch
So he operated from the corner of his room…
How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? Gen. 27:20 (KJV)
The man who stayed put won the contest
And received ‘The Blessing’..
Cheaper. Easier. Faster.
Afterall, Isaac never doubted the QUALITY of the venison- only the source.
Notwithstanding, the aroma too strong
And the taste too sweet to be resisted
So all the doubts had to step aside
And all of the blessing came rumbling from his bowels
With nothing left at all for the ‘heir’-
The guy who had the muscles
Who believed victory had to be tough and far…
And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept. Gen 27:38 (KJV)
Truly, wisdom is better than strength, and inspiration than weapons of war.
Though rat race is the norm in life and business, it doesn’t always guarantee success!
Lord, Thank You for reminding me yet again that while we have to be up and doing, it’s not always about the rat race; besides stress does not guarantee success as victory is from You only.
Please let Your breath give me inspiration- one so great as to take me beyond the limitations of my efforts and (in)abilities. Amen.
