Rom 12:3 (KJV) For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
I often wonder why pride is a much more celebrated sin than self condemnation because both are sins alike.
As a matter of fact, while it is wrong to have a higher esteem of oneself than necessary, it is equally wrong and perhaps, even more hazardous to destiny to keep putting oneself down!
Yet, lots of people today are plagued by this ill- feeling of inferiority and self condemnation, and they don’t even think it’s abnormal!
Anyone who would readily value, appreciate and celebrate every other person but himself needs help.
Bad attitudes like pride, selfishness and the likes are notorious, probably because they affect others.
Meanwhile, unhealthy attitudes such as worry, self pity, self condemnation, which are equally bad, are hardly noticed! Sadly, these attitudes could be even more potentially dangerous to the bearer and the world at large!
It has been said that not even God would help a man with a bad attitude- of which a poor opinion of oneself is chief. Without faith, it is impossible to please God!
