Prov.24:10 (GNB) If you are weak in a crisis, you are weak indeed.
As Mentioned in If You’re Weak In Crisis, Adaptability is the ability to find workarounds for existence and productivity in non-conducive and unpalatable circumstances, especially in periods of crisis.
Adaptability, however, goes beyond conforming to change like chameleons, or complying with whatever life brings our way.
It goes beyond being pliable like victims of circumstances.
Rather, adaptability also involves jump-starting or initiating Change. It is in essence, setting the pace of change!
In other words, Adaptability means mastering our circumstances to the point of being able to influence and dictate the pace of events around us!
Krishnamurti once said,
It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society
Moreover, John Dewey said,
Complete adaptation to environment means death. The essential point in all response is the desire to control environment.
That is the true essence of Adaptability!
But there is a spirit in man:
and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.
Job 32:8 (KJV)
Lord, it is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a substandard life; please grant that I do not adjust in negligence to substandard ways of life around me, but that by Your Spirit and inspiration in me, I get so Innovative as to set the pace for change and to positively influence the course of events for the better in such circumstances. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
