Inspiring Change Through Literature and Media

Just When I Think I’ve Mastered How To Live, Life Changes…

I know many people out there have very similar experiences: some for lacking thorough career guidance and counselling to match their career choices with their passion from the onset; others for having to take up well-paying jobs which are irrelevant to their course of study just to survive, especially banking jobs…

“Just when I think I have learned the way to live, life changes.” Hugh Prather once wrote. Any grown up can testify to this reality.

I have been through several interesting twists and turns in my career/ business life, especially while trying to figure out how my profession aligns with my purpose and passion. And sincerely, I sometimes wonder, “all this for only me?

… through all the changing seasons, twists and turns of life,  God remains the same: Ever faithful,  ever sure. Never hurried, never late …

Trained Electrical/ Electronic Engineer

turned … (I can see lots of more exciting twists and turns because I’m into some serious academia in more strategic dimensions. Also, I’m hitting the nail on the head this time since I’ve finally figured some things out.)

Interesting path, eventful career life; and despite that the ‘turnings’ weren’t as smooth as they appear on your screen, my greatest lesson learnt remains one simple truth:

That through all the changing seasons, twists and turns of life,  God remains the same:

Ever faithful,  ever sure.
Never hurried, never late.

Just when I think I have learned the way to live, life changes.
-Hugh Prather

I know many people out there have very similar experiences: some for lacking thorough career guidance and counselling to match their career choices with their passion from the onset; others for having to take up well-paying jobs which are irrelevant to their course of study just to survive, especially banking jobs…

Truthfully, the roller-coaster involved in the search for meaning in such cases could make one outright disillusioned; and sometimes, the future looks soooo bleak…

However, having been through it all, I think I have earned the right privilege to be an inspiration to someone: (and I am starting a series on how I maintained my focus and battled anxiety, confusion and depression while in transit.)

If you find yourself  trying to make some sense out of your one-too-many episodes of shifting seasons, please be encouraged. For though we do not know what the future holds,  we can commit it all into God’s able hands, while we rest assured that only good things can lurk in the dark hazy corners we cannot see with our human eyes.

How am I so sure?  Simple: because I know the One who holds the future, and I know the declarations and promises He has made concerning my future…

I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for. Jer.29:11 (GNB)

Interestingly, I am starting a new fiction series entitled Madame de Madame… (Please download the preview here).

I am too simple and down-to-earth for my romance with wealth to be an obsession. Rather, it is for a cause much greater than I, and which keeps unfolding …

…though we do not know what the future holds,  we can commit it all into God’s able hands , while we rest assured that only good things can lurk around the dark hazy corners we cannot see with our human eyes.

In any case, all I see is a future which gets brighter by the day: whatever it holds can only be good, and life can only get sweeter and better.
